I read this book because Elena Farrante in her book La frantumaglia, says it had a strong influence on her and indeed, I assume she chose her nom de plume Farrante because it rhymes with Morante. Much of the work she had written in the meantime, she had destroyed, although mebzogna did publish a novella, The Andalusian Shawland a poem, The Adventure.
